Indulge in the irresistible softness and sweetness of these Turkish-style bagels. They are incredibly fluffy, making them the perfect canvas for sweet or savoury fillings, or simple delightful on their own.
INGREDIENTS
- 200g milk
- 25g fresh yeast or 2 tsp instant dry yeast.
- 75g sugar.
- 50g soft butter.
- 70g sunflower oil.
- 550g plain flour.
- 2 M eggs, separated white and yolk.
- 1 tsp salt.
METHOD
- Place milk, butter, yeast and sugar in mixing bowl and warm 3min/37C/speed 2.
- Add flour, oil, egg whites only (reserve yolks for later) and salt and mix 5 sec/ speed 5. then knead Dough / 3 min. Transfer to greased bowl and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into balls of 100g each. divide again each ball into two and form two ropes. Twist them together and stick the edges together to make them round like rings. brush bagels with the reserved egg yolks and sprinkle with sesame seeds or nigella seeds.
- Place them in a prepared oven tray with grease proof paper and let them rise again for 20-30 minutes. Meanwhile preheat oven at 180 C.
- Bake the bagels for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy it!
